Invitation to Integration

Dear Kaleid Ladies,

Good morning!

This email is your express written invitation to join us for Foundations, the Kaleid Circle that is our “flagship” offering! We will look deeply into the lenses of See Yourself, See Others, and See the City, in turn, as we walk through the upcoming six months together. It’s an amazing time, and we would love for you to be a part.

If there was one word to articulate our hope for Foundations, it would be integration. We live lives that are full to overflowing, but we tend to struggle to integrate the disparate parts so that we can trustingly live into the big picture God is painting in our beautiful, unique lives. To experience integration is to get a vision for that big picture and to live from the awareness that everything belongs.

Wholeness.

Integrity.

All things held together...

Integration is one of the promises of life with God in Christ.

There’s a passage in Colossians 1 that speaks so beautifully about Jesus’ faithful, creative work of integration. Verses fifteen through twenty record for us a hymn from the early church...one of the earliest records of the common faith. The hymn says:

The Son is the image of the invisible God,

the one who is first over all creation.

Because all things were created by him:

both in the heavens and on the earth,

the things that are visible and the things that are invisible.

Whether they are thrones or powers,

or rulers or authorities,

all things were created through him and for him.

He existed before all things,

and all things are held together in him.

He is the head of the body, the church,

who is the beginning,

the one who is firstborn from among the dead

so that he might occupy the first place in everything.

Because all the fullness of God was pleased to live in him,

and he reconciled all things to himself through him—

whether things on earth or in the heavens.

He brought peace through the blood of his cross.

There is just so much in these few verses. It might even blow your mind if you sit with it for very long. But within the mystery is the reality that Jesus initiates and integrates all of creation into the life of God.

Friends, this also means that Jesus has initiated and is integrating everything in your life into the life of God. This is good news.

Kaleid Foundations will be a circle where we explore the deep and wide parts of our lives by looking at ourselves, others, and our city. We do this exploration in service of integration. We want to see how Jesus is holding it all together so that we can live bold and trusting lives, fully showing up where we are and confidently being who we are.

We hope you’ll join us.

You are loved.

Gratefully,

The Kaleid Team

P.S. This song is so beautiful - it puts to music some of Colossians 1. We hope you enjoy it.

Also, find out more about our other Kaleid circles this fall here. We would love to have you join us for any (or all) of them!
